Your name and details will not be passed on to any other agency without asking you first. If inquiries need to be referred to the Police, your name will need to be provided to ensure the matter can be managed effectively.

Your details will never be reported publicly by the Ageing and Disability Commissioner.

Privacy and confidentiality when making a report

You can make an anonymous report.

If you choose to share your details when making a report, this will help the Ageing and Disability Commissioner to contact you again relating to your enquiry, or allow you to make follow up enquiries.

Sharing your details will also assist investigation teams with any further questions they need to ask you that could help the person you are concerned about.

False reports could be liable to civil, criminal or disciplinary action.

Information storage

Any information you provide will be stored securely by the Ageing and Disability Commissioner, and will only be accessible by the people at the Commissioner’s office who are inquiring into the matter.
